I spent a lot of time chasing my daughter around the house when she heard it was time to wash her hair.

So much time that I knew I had to find a way to help her love the experience.  I looked for books on haircare and couldn't find anything for her age.  I wanted a vibrant picture book that explained the steps so she knew exactly what was happening and could help with the process. To give her some control in the process instead of feeling "done to". I also knew that if she could see and choose her hairstyle, she'd be even more excited about the process ahead.

Wash Day was written to Turn Hair Washing Fears Into Excited Smiles.

This is the only book written specifically for curly-haired children. Wash Day uses rhyme and fun illustrations to teach little ones (and their caretakers) why we need to wash our hair and how to do it. The interactive format and bright illustrations encourage readers to participate in and look forward to the process. You will learn how to shampoo, condition, detangle and choose a simple hairstyle that celebrates curly textures. This book is written specifically for people who don't have the skills to plait or braid. Each style is explained visually in 4 steps.

Monique Mayers is a Bajan-Canadian mom who wrote this book to help her curly-haired toddler learn to love wash days and gain independence by choosing her own style.
